Partner: Design is Kinky

In the summer of 2005, a small team in collaboration with the Australian Design is Kinky, brought Semi-Permanent to NYC for the first time. This three day conference examined the evolution of the creative professional in the context of technology, creativity, storytelling, fashion, architecture, and the arts.

Curation

We dubbed the speakers "the super species of art and design". We matched the characteristics of the speakers to the survival skills of every cities heartiest creatures, the coach-roach, the rat, and the pigeon, who are likely to survive in the harshest conditions.

Content

The team that we built managed the publishing of a "Crowd Sourced Book" of more that 175 pages, the creation, travel and preparation of 12 speakers to New York City, the solicitation of sponsors, media partners, coordination of volunteers.

Experience Design

The events gathered more that 1,200 attendees from around the world. We integrated partners in promotion, VIP satellite events, and brand integration with Diesel, Vice Magazine, Art Directors Club, Beautiful Decay and 2k Sports.

Doug Jaeger served as creative director on this project when he was Founder / Ceo of thehappycorp global.
